Uncle Dan and Aunt Lai from The Villages took our family and our visitors (Grandpa and his crew) on a pontoon boat ride on February 5, 2010! We crossed a lake, went up a river, and got lifted in a lock to another river. We didn't catch any fish and only saw a ripple of an aligator, but nobody fell in, and we all enjoyed seeing nature in Florida!
We love Christmas time and all of the traditions and festivities that come along with it....This year was no different, even though we were in a new location across the country. We decorated our tree, read from the Bible, opened pajamas, performed in our Christmas program, watched family home videos, and opened Christmas presents, to name a few. Our favorite part of the season was being together!
Michael and Denise got married on November 26, 2010, at the Eagle Moutain Golf Course. Mikayla was the flower girl, and Kyle was the ring bearer. Festivities following the ceremony included dinner, a slide show, dancing, and a reception in Mantua. The bride and groom were beautiful and happy!
We celebrated Thanksgiving in 2010 in Pleasant View, Utah, with the Loveless family! We found out two weeks prior to Thanksgiving that Uncle Michael was getting married to Denise. Luckily, tickets were affordable, and the five of us left Daddy to work and flew to Utah for both Thanksgiving and the wedding. Dinner was delicious, and the company was great! We had a few wrestling matches; the turkey bag broke, and the pipe under the kitchen sink sprang a leak. We all went home happy and full!
There were many Halloween festivities this year, including a favorite book character parade, a school Halloween carnival, a dinner and trunk-or-treat at the church, chili and spider bread, and, of course, trick-or-treating. Kyle dressed up as a zombie. Krisee was a different version of Fancy Nancy. Kamren was Bumble Bee Transformer, and Karter was th same monkey that he was last year. The costume was a bit more snug this year, and he did not particularly enjoy his monkey hat! The school carnival at Keene's Crossing put other school Halloween carnivals that we have attended in the past to shame. There were many bouncy houses, loud music, games galore, and even a carnival ride. Maybe that's what you have to do to compete with Disney World up the street! The kids enjoyed earning tickets to buy cheap prizes that broke within minutes! The kids had fun trick-or-treating in the warmest temperatures we have ever gone trick-or-treating in and returned home with a load of candy!
At Keene's Crossing Elementary, the students are encouraged to dress up like their favorite book character in a parade at the school. The parade this year was on October 28th. Kyle chose to be a Minotaur from one of his favorite series. Krisee dressed up like fancy Nancy, and Kamren chose to be a t-rex from any number of our dinosaur books.
